Lichfield Furniture Company started in 2019 with a problem in our own home.
We needed a practical storage solution for shoes and bags beneath the stairs, but I couldn’t find anything that fitted the space or had the rustic, industrial look we wanted.
So I decided to build it myself.
After sharing a photograph of the finished piece online, friends and family began asking if I could make something similar for them. One piece became another, enquiries turned into orders and, little by little, Lichfield Furniture Company was born.
What started with a single piece of furniture built for our own home has grown into a business creating furniture for homes across the UK.

I’m Drew, the owner and maker behind Lichfield Furniture Company.
By trade, I’m a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. It’s a career where precision, quality, problem-solving and attention to detail aren’t optional — they’re essential. Those same standards naturally influence the way I approach furniture making.
Woodworking has always been closer to home, too. My grandfather was a carpenter, and I’d like to think that some of his skill and appreciation for making things properly has found its way down through the generations.
What began as a side project has developed into a small but passionate business where craftsmanship still matters.
And despite how the business has grown, every piece of Lichfield Furniture Company furniture is still made by me, by hand, in our Lichfield workshop.
Our furniture isn’t mass-produced or bought in and rebranded. We use solid timber, real tools and traditional furniture-making techniques to create every piece individually in our workshop.
Homes aren’t all the same, so furniture shouldn’t have to be either. Many of our designs can be made to your required dimensions, with a choice of finishes and configurations to suit your space.
We make furniture for years of everyday use, not for a season. Quality materials and careful construction sit at the heart of everything we produce, which is why every handmade piece comes with our 10-year structural guarantee.
We celebrate timber rather than trying to make it look manufactured. Natural knots, grain patterns, colour variation and character mean that no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
There are no sales teams or middlemen. From your first enquiry through to the finished piece, you’re dealing directly with the person who will actually make your furniture.

Our made-to-order approach also means we’re not restricted to standard furniture-store dimensions. If you have an awkward alcove, a narrow hallway, a particular size of dining table in mind or simply an idea you haven’t been able to find elsewhere, we can often create something specifically for you.

We offer a carefully selected range of furniture finishes, with samples available to help you see how different colours work alongside your existing furniture and interior.

Today, our furniture can be found in homes across the UK, but every piece is still handcrafted in our Lichfield workshop by the same pair of hands.
